In general, I find source physics the most interesting. I will focus on induced seismicity and try to build models that can reproduce field observations.

Practical Experience

08/2021 Zermatt Excursion (Switzerland)
  • Gained a geological and tectonic overview of the Zermatt area
  • Observed ophiolite of the Saas-Zermatt-Zone and eclogite-facies metamorphism
09/2019

Oceanography Practice in Bohai Bay, Qingdao, Shandong (China)

  • Learned how to use the equipment and conduct offshore scientific research on a
    research vessel
  • Operated submarine multi-beam equipment to detect the submarine topography
08/2019

Geophysics Practice in Tao Village, Qixia, Yantai, Shandong (China)

  • Organised fieldwork as a group and presented our results
  • Used applied geophysical exploration methods to detect underground and dam
structures, including seismic reflection, controlled-source electromagnetic method, magnetotelluric method, and ground-penetrating radar
08/2018

Geological Practice (New Zealand)

  • Attended seminar in GNS Science about how they monitor the geothermal system
  • Fieldtrip to Taupo volcanic zone and Auckland volcanic field
  • Observed the basalt columnar joints in the waterfall reserve and the bedrock  coast
07/2018

Xingcheng Geological Practice, Hulu Island, Liaoning (China)

  • Teamed up to complete geological stratifications, completed tasks of sectional drawing and field geological mapping
  • Observed large structures like thrust nappe structures, folds and fractures
  • Gained a deeper understanding of the relationship between geological structures and their genesis, as well as stratigraphic sedimentary and sedimentary environment
07/2017

Geological Practice in Tao Village, Qixia, Yantai, Shandong (China)

  • Identified structures and the fault of Tao Village
  • Got familiar with metamorphic rocks, sedimentary rocks and magmatic rocks; observed large fractures, anticlines and joint structures; and learned how to trace the fault in the field
  • Completed the geological research report and the geological map of the Taocun Area of Qixia
